Follwing the trend of “what MS would I want to use if Build Fighters was real”, I’ve been building a custom version of my favorite giant robot, the Formula 97 F97 Crossbone Gundam. I’m calling it the F97 Seegar because I can’t resist a pretentious historical reference. I’ve finished the Core Fighter for the F97 Seegar and decided to go ahead and photograph it before mounting it in the torso, since I’m certain some of the paint will scrape off in the process, and I don’t really intend to remove it later. The main body is painted cobalt and the jets and verniers are dark ghost gray (though I’ll be using a darker gray on the rest of the Seegar). The internal parts are all dark metallic blue with varied tones.
I’ve got a bunch of customizations both finished and in-progress with the actual MS (especially the weapon systems), but the only customizations I made to the core fighter are the verniers (swapped out with some of the Bulder Parts series optional verniers) and the detachable Sturm Booster I built out of another large vernier mounted directly onto a large propellant tank. This option part is inteded to give the Seegar the ability to deploy far from a combat zone without relying on a highly-visible carrier or it’s main propellant reserves (I plan to attach two smaller external propellant tanks to the Gundam’s back) and to give the Core Fighter a little more get-up-n’-go should it need to jettison and flee.
